Description

Long description

Our London City Walking Tour covers all the most iconic and historically significant sights that light up the capital's skyline from the Gherkin to Tower Bridge.

Your walk starts from outside St. Paul’s Underground station, where you’ll meet your guide and begin by observing the magnificence of the cathedral of the same name, learning of its history, significance, and the legendary architect behind its creation.

Feast your eyes on the bold and beautiful geometry of the One New Change Building as you weave your way through narrow and twisting alleyways towards the geographic centre of London.

Your path will then bring you out into Bow Churchyard, where St. Mary-le-Bow’s church bells sounded when the old gates to the city were being opened. Soak in the history as your guide regales you with tales of local tradition and interesting facts about the church’s rich past.

Heading east, you’ll arrive at the heart of the old financial district, where the Bank of England and the roman columns of the residence of the Lord Mayor radiate power and elegance.

Next up is Leadenhall Market, a 19th century Victorian trading post now home to a diverse selection of bars, restaurants, and boutique shopping choices. As your guide leads you on, admire the unique and iconic architecture of classic London buildings like the ‘Gherkin’ and the ‘Cheese Grater’ dwarfing their neighbours against the skyline of London.

For the final leg of your tour, you’ll pass an historic pub frequented by some of England’s most revered authors, and visit the monument to the Great Fire that levelled London in the 17th century.

Finally, you’ll head towards the Thames, arriving at the Tower of London, home of the Crown Jewels and one of London’s oldest structures. Here you’ll say goodbye to your guide, as the river and the glorious parapets of Tower Bridge stretch out before you.

Is riding a bicycle in London safe for tourists?

We understand that tourists often have concerns about cycling safety in a major, bustling metropolis like London. Our perspective is that cycling in London, particularly when guided by our team, is comparable in safety to walking on the pavement. This assertion is based on the significant safety measures we implement and the continuous improvements in the city's infrastructure

A key advantage of joining our tours is the presence of our experienced tour guides. Our guides are intimately familiar with London's streets, traffic patterns, and potential hazards. They actively look out for situations and obstacles that a visitor unfamiliar with the city might not notice, thus preemptively mitigating danger.

Mandatory Safety Gear and Pre-tour safety briefing. To ensure the highest level of safety for our clients, we insist that all participants wear a cycle helmet. This is a non-negotiable safety protocol designed to provide an extra layer of protection. While we must be realistic—we cannot guarantee that a bicycle will never fall over—we are absolutely committed to leading your group safely and responsibly through the city. We think cycling is an exceptionally rewarding and safe way to navigate London, offering a unique and intimate view of the capital. Thanks to London's expanding network of cycleways and quieter back streets, you can cover more ground than walking while remaining outdoors and immersed in the city's lively atmosphere.
Our tours prioritise these safe corridors and back streets. When it is necessary to cross a main road to connect parts of our route, these sections are managed with extreme caution and clear guidance from our experienced leaders, that might require a short dismount and walk.

With our expert guidance and the city's improved cycling infrastructure, tourists can confidently and safely enjoy exploring London on two wheels.

Mandatory Safety Gear and Pre-tour safety briefing to ensure the highest level of safety for our clients, we insist that all participants wear a cycle helmet.

"Had a fantastic afternoon tour at the start of January. Complete with an 8 year old and 3 year old I was a little uncertain how successful we would be getting around central London but the bikes and bike carrier were great. Our guide, Olly was fantastic. Patient, knowledgeable and very funny, I cannot recommend this tour highly enough for anyone with young children. Thanks for a great experience."
