Sunset Tour
Description
Wonder at London's golden hour as the city transforms around you. Starting at 5pm, the Sunset Tour shows you the best sights of a beautiful city, following calm streets and cycle paths along the River Thames.
As day gently turns to dusk, see the lights come on at the Tower of London, St. Paul's Cathedral, and the London Eye. Cycling across Tower Bridge into the modern business district, capture the most impressive and iconic buildings of the British capital at the most enchanting time of day.
The last rays of the sun will illuminate the best modern and traditional architecture of the city, often in the same place. Our carefully-chosen route helps you find the viewpoints ideal for photographers, romantics, architecture enthusiasts, and friends looking for the perfect group photo.
On a Sunset Tour, your guide will show you a more serene side of the city, as bustling streets retreat into the light of the local pub. Soak in the atmosphere and take some photos, as a cool breeze blows off the river and into a perfect memory. Embrace the warm orange glow as the skyline comes alive around you, and discover a city that feels oddly familiar in a soft light.
Get up-close and intimate with the best views of London on a cycle tour, blending sightseeing with a cinematic experience of the city's best hours.

Is the tour suitable for children?
The tour lasts approximately 3.0–3.5 hours and is designed to be suitable for most people, thanks to its relaxed pace and frequent stops along the way. However, given that this tour occurs later in the day, younger guests who are tired out from an exciting day may want to consider if this is the tour for them.
To participate in an open group tour, children must be at least 10 years old, confident independent cyclists, and comfortable riding alongside traffic. Children under 10 are not suitable for group tours. The management team or tour guide will always make the final decision on whether a child can safely join the group. Adults are responsible for the children in their party at all times during the tour.
For younger children or families who prefer a more flexible experience, we recommend booking a private tour, where all ages are welcome and we can better tailor the pace of the tour to younger riders.
What happens if it rains?
London rarely experiences all-day rain. Typically, we get short showers, and we do our best to find shelter while they pass.
The tour runs in most weather conditions, so please dress accordingly. In cases of extreme weather, we may reschedule or offer alternatives.
Please see our full terms and conditions for details regarding our refund policy in the event of rain.
What should I wear or bring?
We recommend:
- Comfortable clothing
- Weather-appropriate layers, such as a light coat
- In hotter weather, bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a water bottle
- In colder weather, we offer a selection of gloves for sale in our shop
- You may also want to bring a small bag, but larger bags will need to be stored at the shop during your tour
- A camera or phone for capturing the perfect sunset!
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, we strongly recommend booking in advance as spaces are limited and tours often sell out, especially during peak season.
Can I hire the bike after the tour?
Yes, you can hire your bike after your tour, for a period lasting from a few hours up to 3 weeks. We offer a range of bikes including traditional bikes, E-bikes, and road bikes. Helmets and locks are included with all rentals.
Please speak to the team to arrange your rental before your departure for the Sunset Tour, because the store will generally close before your return.
What's your cancellation policy?
We require 24 hours' notice ahead of your original booking time in order for you to claim a refund. With less than 24 hours' notice, we would be happy to reschedule your tour if we have availability. Please see our full terms and conditions.

Which is the best bike tour for me?
The Sunset Tour is our best choice for visitors seeking the perfect shot, either making the perfect memory with friends, or capturing a beautiful city bathed in an orange glow. It is also perfect for those who prefer to travel in the evenings.
If this is your first time in London, we recommend the Gold Classic Tour or the Total E-London Tour to help you see the best-known highlights of the city up close, within a few hours. Booking these tours privately allows for more flexibility in your timings, travel at your pace, and for your guide to focus more on your interests, needs, and questions throughout the tour.
If you’re looking for a mix of history and modern London vibes, the Love London Tour is a great option. To get off the tourist trail and deep into the streets that built Britain, The Original E-bike Tour or the Destination London Tour are both great choices. For those families with children under 10, a Family London Private Tour offers a more compact experience.
Can I join if I don’t ride a bike?
If you are not comfortable riding a bike independently, our cycle tours unfortunately won’t be suitable for you, as all guests need to be confident riding in traffic and on public roads around London. However, you’re still very welcome to explore the city with us by joining one of our walking tours instead.
On a walking tour you can get to know the landmarks of London, their hidden histories, and the story of the city, at a leisurely pace with an expert guide.
Are bikes provided?
Yes, we provide comfortable, well-maintained bicycles for all guests. Our traditional Dutch-style bikes are designed for comfort and easy riding, and come in a range of frame sizes. With an upright seating position, they offer great balance and a relaxed cruising experience. Their seats are fully adjustable, making them suitable for riders of different heights, including shorter cyclists.
You can also choose to upgrade to an E-bike for an additional fee, for an extra boost on your tour.
Do I have to wear a helmet?
Yes, helmets are always required. We provide these free of charge for all guests, in a range of sizes. Wearing a helmet is a mandatory condition of our insurance when taking part in a tour in London, aside from being the safest way to travel by bike.
Can I cancel or reschedule my booking?
Yes, cancellations or changes are possible, in accordance with our terms and conditions. Refunds are possible up to 24 hours before your original booking, and it may be possible to rearrange the time of your tour after that.
Please check your booking confirmation for details. If you’ve already booked but your plans have changed, please let us know as soon as possible. Each tour has a maximum capacity, so cancelling in advance allows us to offer your place to other guests.
