Description

Long description

Voyage to the old east of London on The Original E-bike Tour, where dockyards, winding alleys, and ancient traditions hide stories of pirates, merchants, and empire-builders. Let your E-bike be the wind in your sails, gently boosting you past the Tower of London, through the city's oldest streets, along streams that ran with gold and blood.

The scent of spice and salt lingers in the air of the ancient City of London. Here, famous skyscrapers tower over Roman monuments laid 2,000 years ago, in the ancient home of trade and ambition.

This is the tour that takes you to the oldest parts of the city and the powerhouses that made Britain wealthy. Hear tales of privateers chasing fortune, explorers setting their sights on distant horizons, and the origins of London itself.

Set sail for east London on the Original E-bike Tour: reserve your place today!

What happens if it rains?

London rarely experiences all-day rain. Typically, we get short showers, and we do our best to find shelter while they pass.

The tour runs in most weather conditions, so please dress accordingly. In cases of extreme weather, we may reschedule or offer alternatives.

Please see our full terms and conditions for details regarding our refund policy in the event of rain.

Is the tour suitable for children?

The tour lasts approximately 3.0–3.5 hours and is designed to be suitable for most people, thanks to its relaxed pace and frequent stops along the way.

Sometimes children may be suitable for the group tour, but this depends on individual ability. Children must be at least 10 years old, confident cyclists, and comfortable riding alongside traffic. Children under 10 are not suitable for group tours. The management team or tour guide will always make the final decision on whether a child can safely join the group. Adults are responsible for children and their safety at all times during the tour.

For younger children or families who prefer a more flexible experience, we recommend booking a private tour, where all ages are welcome and we offer a range of bikes to suit different riders.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes, we strongly recommend booking in advance as spaces are limited and tours often sell out, especially during peak season.

Can I hire the bike after the tour?

Yes, you can extend your use of the bike after the tour for a few hours or for a longer period of up to three weeks. Please speak to the team after your tour to arrange this. We offer a range of bikes including traditional bikes, e-bikes, and road bikes. Helmets and locks are included with all rentals.

What's your cancellation policy?

We require 24 hours notice in order for you to claim a refund. With less than 24 hours' notice, we would be happy to reschedule your tour if we have availability. Please see our full terms and conditions.

Which is the best bike tour for me?

If this is your first time in London, we recommend the Gold Classic Tour or the Total E-London Tour to help you see the best-known highlights of the city up close, within a few hours. Booking this tour privately allows for more flexibility in your timings, travel at your pace, and for your guide to focus more on your interests, needs, and questions throughout the tour.

If you’re looking for a mix of history and modern London vibes, the Love London Tour is a great option. For something a little less touristy but still rich in modern history, The Original E-bike Tour or the Destination London Tour are both great choices. For something more unique, you can try our Sunset Tour or book a Family London Private Tour, which may be more suitable for families with children under 10.

Can I still join if I don’t ride a bike?

If you can’t ride a bike, our guided bike tours unfortunately won’t be suitable for you, as all guests need to be confident riding in traffic and on public roads in London. However, you can still explore London with us by joining one of our walking tours instead.

Our walking tours are a great alternative, offering a relaxed way to discover the city’s landmarks, history, and hidden gems on foot with an expert guide.

Are bikes provided?

Yes, we provide comfortable, well-maintained bicycles for all guests. Our traditional Dutch-style bikes are designed for comfort and easy riding, and come in a range of frame sizes. With an upright seating position, they offer great balance and a relaxed cruising experience. The seats are fully adjustable, making them suitable for riders of different heights, including shorter cyclists.

You can also choose to upgrade to an E-bike for an additional fee, for a boost around the streets of London.

Do I have to wear a helmet?

Yes, helmets are always required. We provide them free of charge for all guests. Wearing a helmet is a condition of our insurance when taking part in a tour in London.

Can I cancel or reschedule my booking?

Yes, cancellations or changes are possible, in accordance with our terms and conditions. Refunds are possible up to 24 hours before your original booking, and it may be possible to rearrange the time of your tour after that.

Please check your booking confirmation for details. If you’ve already booked but your plans have changed, please let us know as soon as possible. Each tour has a maximum capacity, so cancelling in advance allows us to offer your place to other guests.
