Is this tour suitable for children?
The Gold Classic Tour lasts approximately 3.0–3.5 hours and is designed to be suitable for most people, with a relaxed pace and frequent stops along the way. Babies and toddlers can be carried in a baby seat, but children larger than this will need their own bike.
To participate in an open group tour independently, children must be at least 10 years old, confident cyclists, and comfortable riding alongside traffic. Children under 10 who cannot fit in a baby seat will not be suitable for group tours. The management team and tour guides will always make the final decision on whether a child can safely join the group. Adults are responsible for their children at all times during the tour.
For younger children or families who prefer a more flexible experience, we recommend booking a private tour, where all ages are welcome and we can better tailor the pace of the tour to younger riders.
Why Choose a Private Tour?
Flexibility: Our Gold Classic Tour leaves around 10:15 AM every day. If you need some more time getting ready in the morning, or would like to see the city in the afternoon, a private tour works around your schedule.
Pacing: When your party are the only guests on a tour, we can work to your pace. A private tour enables you to choose more frequent breaks for rest, snacks, or a visit to a playground, ensuring your visit delights children of all ages.
Priorities: What do you want to see in London? A private tour focuses on your tastes. You can work with your guide to adjust your route, avoiding busier areas or focusing more on child-friendly landmarks, such as parks, or interactive historical sites.
Safety first: Our expert guides are experienced in leading family groups and prioritise safety above all else. They choose the quietest and most scenic cycleways, using designated cycle paths wherever possible.
A private family tour is the ideal way to create lasting memories while experiencing the heart of London in a safe, fun, and memorable way. Book a Gold Classic Tour privately in a language of your choice for your perfect family cycling adventure.
However, if you think shorter legs might need a shorter ride, we recommend the Family London Private Tour for a ride that covers less ground. This tour allows us to custom design your tour around your needs, tailoring the route to accommodate participants of all ages, abilities, and interests.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, we strongly recommend booking in advance as spaces are limited and tours often sell out, especially during peak season.
Can I hire the bike after the tour?
Yes, you can extend your use of the bike after the tour for a few hours or for a longer period of up to 3 weeks. Please speak to the team after your tour to arrange this. We offer a range of bikes including traditional bikes, e-bikes, and road bikes. Helmets and locks are included with all rentals.
What's your cancellation policy?
We need 24 hours' notice in order for you to claim a refund. With less than 24 hours' notice, we would be happy to reschedule your tour if we have availability. See our full terms and conditions
Which is the best bike tour for me?
If it’s your first time in London, we recommend the Gold Classic Tour or the Total E-London Tour to help you see the best-known highlights of the city up close, within a few hours. Both of these tours can be booked privately for greater flexibility and tailoring to your interests and needs throughout the tour.
If you’re looking for a mix of royal and cultural vibes, the Love London Tour is a great option. To get off the tourist trail and deep into the streets that built Britain, The Original E-bike Tour or the Destination London Tour are both great choices. The Sunset Tour will show you the beauty of London in the afternoon, and families with children under 10 might choose a Family London Private Tour for a more compact experience.
Can I still join if I don’t ride a bike?
If you are not comfortable riding a bike independently, our cycle tours unfortunately won’t be suitable for you, as all guests need to be confident riding in traffic and on public roads around London. However, you’re still very welcome to explore the city with us by joining one of our walking tours instead.
On a walking tour you can get to know the landmarks of London, their hidden histories, and the story of the city, at a leisurely pace with an expert guide.
Are bikes provided?
Yes, we provide comfortable, well-maintained bicycles for all guests. Our traditional Dutch-style bikes are designed for comfort and easy riding, and come in a range of frame sizes. With an upright seating position, they offer great balance and a relaxed cruising experience. The seats are fully adjustable, making them suitable for riders of different heights, including shorter cyclists.
You can also choose to upgrade to an e-bike for an additional fee, for an even easier ride around London.
Do I have to wear a helmet?
Yes, helmets are always required. We provide them free of charge for all guests. Wearing a helmet is a condition of our insurance when taking part in a tour in London.
Can I cancel or reschedule my booking?
Yes, cancellations or changes are possible, in accordance with our terms and conditions. Refunds are possible up to 24 hours before your original booking, and it may be possible to rearrange the time of your tour after that.
Please check your booking confirmation for details. If you’ve already booked but your plans have changed, please let us know as soon as possible. Each tour has a maximum capacity, so cancelling in advance allows us to offer your place to other guests.
