Description

Long description

Our London City Walking Tour covers all the most iconic and historically significant sights that light up the capital's skyline from the Gherkin to Tower Bridge.

Your walk starts from outside St. Paul’s Underground station, where you’ll meet your guide and begin by observing the magnificence of the cathedral of the same name, learning of its history, significance, and the legendary architect behind its creation.

Feast your eyes on the bold and beautiful geometry of the One New Change Building as you weave your way through narrow and twisting alleyways towards the geographic centre of London.

Your path will then bring you out into Bow Churchyard, where St. Mary-le-Bow’s church bells sounded when the old gates to the city were being opened. Soak in the history as your guide regales you with tales of local tradition and interesting facts about the church’s rich past.

Heading east, you’ll arrive at the heart of the old financial district, where the Bank of England and the roman columns of the residence of the Lord Mayor radiate power and elegance.

Next up is Leadenhall Market, a 19th century Victorian trading post now home to a diverse selection of bars, restaurants, and boutique shopping choices. As your guide leads you on, admire the unique and iconic architecture of classic London buildings like the ‘Gherkin’ and the ‘Cheese Grater’ dwarfing their neighbours against the skyline of London.

For the final leg of your tour, you’ll pass an historic pub frequented by some of England’s most revered authors, and visit the monument to the Great Fire that levelled London in the 17th century.

Finally, you’ll head towards the Thames, arriving at the Tower of London, home of the Crown Jewels and one of London’s oldest structures. Here you’ll say goodbye to your guide, as the river and the glorious parapets of Tower Bridge stretch out before you.

Is riding a bicycle in London safe for tourists?

We understand that visitors often have concerns about cycling safety in a major city like London. Our experienced perspective is that cycling in London, particularly when guided by our team, is comparable in safety to walking on the pavement. This assertion is based on the safety measures we implement and the continuous improvements in the city's infrastructure.

Taking one of our tours means you will travel with a knowledgeable guide whose first priority is safety. Your guide will have deep knowledge of London's streets, traffic patterns, and potential hazards along a route they will have covered many times. They will know the hazards of the route you cycle, actively watch for situations that visitors might not notice, and seek to pre-emptively mitigate any circumstance that might arise.

Every tour begins with a safety briefing, telling you everything you need to know. Wearing a helmet is mandatory, to ensure the highest level of safety and visibility for all. We must be realistic: we cannot guarantee that a bicycle will never fall over, but we are absolutely committed to showing you the city safely and responsibly.

We use our knowledge to plan our routes, maximising the use of separated bike lanes, and minimising encounters with traffic by travelling along quieter streets. The areas that we travel through are generally covered by speed limits of 20mph (32kph), and when it is necessary to cross a busy road, these sections are managed with extreme caution and clear guidance from our tour leaders, and when necessary, they will not hesitate to make tours dismount and walk.

Although it has long been one of the world's greatest metropolises, London is increasingly a cycling city, with bicycle infrastructure consistently improving year after year. This has been very noticeable since the pandemic, with the number of journeys by bike increasing by 43% between 2019 and 2025 according to Transport for London.

We think cycling in London is an exceptionally rewarding and safe way to navigate London, offering the best blend of safety, sightseeing, and speed. With us, you can have confidence in safely enjoy exploring London on two wheels.

What are the highlights?

Highlights include:

  • Family-friendly cycling on some of the capital's calmest routes
  • See royal landmarks: Buckingham Palace, St. James’s Park, the Houses of Parliament
  • Explore the massive green spaces of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens
  • Spot pelicans, squirrels, and other park wildlife
  • Age-adapted stories: playful for kids, and fiercer truths for teens

Which is the best bike tour for me?

For families with children under 10, a Family London Advevnture offers the most compact and flexible experience to ensure enjoyment for all. Families with older children might consider the Gold Classic Tour or the Total E-London Tour, recommended to all as a perfect introduction to London. These help you see the best-known highlights of the city up close, within a few hours, either as part of an open tour or privately.

If you’re looking for a mix of royal and cultural vibes, the Love London Tour is a great option. To get off the tourist trail and deep into the streets that built Britain, The Original E-bike Tour or the Destination London Tour are both great choices. Later in the day, the Sunset Tour will show you the beauty of London, both old and new.

Can I still join if I don’t ride a bike?

Children too small to be able to ride independently will need to fit into an attached bike seat to be able to join the tour.

Any guest physically capable of riding independently will have their own bike, and will need to be comfortable riding alongside traffic on public roads in London. Although we have solutions that may enable a way around this, we cannot guarantee their availability on the date of your tour and strongly recommend that all guests are capable of riding a bike independently.

Although it is one of the world's greatest metropolises, London is increasingly a cycling city, with bicycle infrastructure consistently improving year after year.

What's your cancellation policy?

We require 24 hours' notice ahead of your original booking time in order for you to claim a refund. With less than 24 hours' notice, we would be happy to reschedule your tour if we have availability. Please see our full terms and conditions.
